Norwell- the second ranked team in 3A – flexed their muscles and showed why they are a favorite to win the 3A title by defeating the Lady Cats 68-22. “Clearly the best team we have played all year,” exclaimed head coach Dr. Rick Bragg. “They had 11 players score and their leading scorer had 11 points. They have no weaknesses.” Nevertheless, the Lady Cats did not back down as the team only dressed five healthy players for the game. “No excuses- we played our tails off so I have to give a great deal of credit to our players. All five of them played 32 minutes and no one complained.” The Knights jumped out to a 17-5 first quarter lead and never looked back. Emalee Duggins was the leading scorer for Whitko with 11 points. She also took three charges in the game. Ellie Snep scored 7 and had 11 rebounds. Sarah Hewitt mad a three point shot and Elizabeth Miller added a free throw. “We get back in the gym Thursday and prepare for TRC foe Southwood,” Bragg concluded. The Lady Cats travel to Southwood for a 7:45 pm tip off Saturday evening.
