Central Noble flexed their muscles and showed why they are favored for a second straight run at a state championship by defeating the Lady Wildcats 80-31. “They are an experienced, talented team with a goal of winning another state title,” acknowledged head coach Dr. Rick Bragg. “They dominated the game in every way imaginable.” Emalee Duggins was the leading scored for Whitko with 10 points. Ellie Snep had 9 points and 13 rebounds. Lilly Owsley scored six, Sarah Hewitt five, and Kayla Schipper scored one. Central Noble scored the first 20 points of the game to set the tone. “We worked on how to attack their pressure defense and we worked on getting back in transition knowing that is what makes them so good,” Bragg said. “If there is a disappointment it is that we did not compete as well as I believe we are capable. We will see how the team reacts to a game like this.” Whitko will travel to Columbia City for their first road test of the year Friday, then host Churubusco Saturday evening to complete their Whitley County weekend challenge. Both contests have a 7 pm tip off. “We will get back in the gym and work to fix the problems,” Bragg promised.
